Sri Lankan communications agency SHIFT Group is marking its 18th anniversary, highlighting a portfolio that has grown from early digital marketing services into campaigns for major local brands.
Established in 2008, the agency’s early work included Facebook marketing, Google Ads, augmented reality, 3D mapping and interactive experiences. Its anniversary announcement places business results and audience relevance at the centre of its approach.

Work built around local audiences
SHIFT’s client work includes campaigns for Cargills Food City and the wider Cargills corporate brand. Projects such as Cargills Heroes and Saru Bima have connected the company’s activities with stories about the communities it serves.
For Seylan Bank, the agency developed a campaign around Sri Lanka’s 75th National Day that encouraged people to sing the national anthem in both Sinhala and Tamil.
Ikram Mohideen, chief strategy officer of SHIFT Group, said advertising needed to respect audiences’ time while contributing to business growth.
Local and regional recognition
The anniversary follows recognition at several effectiveness and creative awards programmes.
According to its anniversary coverage, SHIFT received two silvers, three bronzes and a finalist placement at the Effie Awards 2025. It also recorded eight wins, including two golds, at the Dragons of Sri Lanka 2026.
Earlier milestones included a Blue Dragon for Best in Country for Sri Lanka, a Gold Dragon at Dragons of Asia and an Effie Gold.
