Google has announced measurement and data-management updates for advertisers, placing greater emphasis on the information used to evaluate and optimise campaigns.
Published on 13 October, its latest Demand Gen update introduces a Data Strength Uplift metric and outlines an expansion of Data Manager into Display & Video 360 and Google Analytics.

A closer view of measurement gains
Google says the Data Strength Uplift metric is launching within Google Ads to help advertisers understand conversion gains associated with their data setup.
The Data Manager expansion is intended to help businesses connect and manage first-party data across additional advertising and analytics products.
Google also said enhanced conversions would become available in Display & Video 360 and Google Analytics. The announcement described these capabilities as coming soon, without specifying a launch date.
Performance claims need context
Google reported average conversion uplift of more than 20% among Demand Gen advertisers building data strength with Google Tag Gateway. The figure comes from the company’s internal global analysis covering 3 to 17 June 2026.
It is not a forecast for individual campaigns or a Sri Lankan market result.
For local marketing teams, the update provides a reason to review conversion tracking and first-party data connections alongside creative and media planning.
